How many versions of Night Stand are available?
Just the two: Night Stand HD Lite (free, but limited) and HD Pro (with tons more features).
Is it Free?
There’s a Lite version of Night Stand that’s completely free. The Pro version costs less than a cup of Starbucks, and is packed to the brim with awesomeness.
What are the differences between Lite and Pro versions?
The free Lite version comes with two clocks - including the sweet World Clock - and basic alarm settings only. The Pro version has all the bells and whistles: 9 beautiful clock faces, options to set tracks from your iPod music library as your alarm, localized weather info, and tons more.
What are the difference between iPhone and iPad versions?
Certain themes have been optimized for the larger iPad screen, and the Nixie theme is currently only available on iPad. The large iPad screen also allows us to tweak certain aspects of the user interface, cutting down on the amount of taps back and forth that iPhone users need to do in order to reach certain settings.
If I buy NS HD Pro for my iPad, do I get it for free for my iPhone?
Yup.
I bought Night Stand for iPhone in the past. Do I get a free update?
Unfortunately, no. Aside from this being a huge point release with cool new features, the way that updates work on the App Store we simply cannot give out free updates to iPhone app users going forward with this new, universal build.

How do I set an alarm?

Instead of seeing the weather, I see an ellipsis (...). What's wrong?
The ellipsis (...) means that either your Internet connection is not available, or for some mysterious reason you can’t currently reach our weather server. In the bottom right corner of the main clock screen, tap the little ‘i’ button. At the very top of the screen that appears you’ll see a status bar with cellphone and WiFi signal strength on the left side. If your signal strength is very low or there is no signal you may be unable to connect to the network. In that case, just try again when you have a stronger signal. If your signal strength is normal/high there is a chance our weather server is undergoing maintenance, so check back later. If the problem persists, drop us an email and we’ll get back to you quickly.

Why doesn't my location show up in the list of locations?
Our location provider probably doesn't have your location on their list, or they may have chosen a location near you with more accurate weather readings. Try searching for a major city around you.
The Screen is too bright for my needs. Can I decrease the brightness?
Yes. Double-tap the screen to dim. Double-tap again to bring it back to the default level.
Double-tapping only dims Night Stand, but if I come out of Night Stand my screen is still at full brightness. Why are you faking it?
Apple doesn’t allow third party developers to manipulate “real” screen brightness. Them’s the breaks.
I cant find the Snooze option, where is it?
Snooze is disabled by default. You have to enable it to show up. Check under Global Alarm Settings in the Alarm tab.

Where’s the setting to fade out music to sleep?
There’s a limitation in iOS that prevents us from being able to do this. We’ve mentioned it to Apple, but we’re still waiting for a reply. ^_^
What’s with the default alarm tone ringing when I set an iTunes/iPod track to wake me up?
If you quit Night Stand before going to sleep it works quietly in the background along with other system activities like email checking. iOS runs tasks like these so deeply that they can only utilize default system sounds, like the default mail alerts. So you can’t wake up to your music if you quit Night Stand and move the alarm into the background; you’ll only get the default alarm tone. Our advice is to keep your device docked and charging with Night Stand as the frontmost app, onscreen. Not only will you wake up to the music you want, but you’ll also have a fully charged device to start the day with.
I can’t find my city / town in the weather section. Can I add it?
While you can’t add new locations to the weather settings, there are hundreds and hundreds of cities / towns available. Try searching for the nearest large town to your current location.

What are math puzzles? What are they for?
If you set an alarm with the snooze option set to ‘math puzzles’, in order to turn off the alarm you’ll have to solve basic math problems. If the buzzer alone isn’t enough to get the juices flowing to your head, this ought to do the trick.
Why is NS HD so slow on my iPhone 3G?
While we’ve done our best to optimize Night Stand on all platforms, if you’re running iOS 4 on iPhone 3G there’s a chance you’ll experience some slowness due to the lower-powered hardware. Them’s the breaks.
Why can't I see my weather?
The weather data provider we were using in version 1.5 (and v1.5.1) is having problems keeping up with the requests. We were also hearing reports of a lot of cities not supported in the database.
As a result, we've scrapped this provider and have introduced two new data providers in v.1.5.2 which has been submitted to Apple and should be available as a free update shortly.
These two new providers have a database of about 7 million big and small cities. What's more, with 1.5.2, you no longer have to set the location manually in the Settings. Night Stand will automatically detect your location and set the location for you.
Why does my alarm not go off?
There could be a lot of reasons for this. Kindly email contact@spoonjuice.com with the details and we'll help you out.
